Inhospitable.

This ongoing project started in 2022,

having bought a 10 year old pocketable Canon Digishit off of ebay for a ridiculously cheap price.
My thought process was this: for a lot of people we spend a large amount of time, in some cases up to 40+ hours a week, in a job that really isn't the most exciting thing in our lives.

However, this time spent with colleagues affords a lot of significant memories that soon become forgotten in the daily grind of working class life.

I wanted to try and capture some of those moments.

I wanted to capture what made hospitality hospitality, both the good and the bad.

At first my friends were confused as to why I was taking photos of them at work but upon seeing the monthly photo-dumps they soon, I think, began to appreciate the point of the project.

Soon the camera became part of the job role; it became another member of staff.

This body of work was, at first, influenced by Greg Williams and his philosophy of photography. As time went on I also took influence from Daido Moriyama, Mark Cohen, and J A Mortram.
